The aim of this paper is to present main challenges on the Polish labour market in the coming years in the context of implementation of the EU employment and climate policies. Undoubtedly there is a need to trigger positive structural adjustments regarding employment. It is mainly result of the implementation of the EU directives related to environment in the field of the emissions reduction, increase in energy efficiency of the EU member states and rational usage of natural resources and waste. The above mentioned goals are coordinated with very ambitious aims of the EU regarding support of employment. Poland should make efforts to reduce emissions, increase energy efficiency and manage rationally resources and waste. Tendencies present on the Polish market reveal that it has an important growth potential (first of all concerning creation of jobs in new and proecological sectors of the economy and also regarding increase in energy efficiency due to usage of renewable energy sources). Usage of this potential should be one of the main priorities of the Polish economic policy in the coming years. (original abstract)
