The 1990s of the 20th century became in Poland a period of deepening polarization in development of individual regions. The essential differences concern a pace, as well as a character of social-economic processes. In this context, the matter which should be settled is determining causes, which become a base of this phenomenon and saying it in more precise way, identifying factors conditioning a proper pace of regions' development.
