This paper presents the concept of the visual workplace that is perceived as the first step towards lean production. It also submits the idea of visual workplace continuum. Visual workplace take the variety of tools and the most popular are described basing on the example of Metzeler Dzierżoniów, the company that has successfully implemented them.(original abstract)
