W artykule podjęto próbę przybliżenia zagadnień związanych ze strategią bancassurance. Wskazano również na strategię, jako czynnik przyczyniający się do rozwoju sektora finansowego.

This article deals with. relationships in the contemporary financial world between the banking and the insurance systems, termed bancassurance. The purpose of the article is to familiarize readers with issues related to this phenomenon and to show the bancassurance strategy as one of the factors contributing to the development of the financial sector and, in particular - to the bank and insurance sectors. This is dealt with in the introduction. The article discusses the origin of the phenomenon and then the evolution of the bancassurance concept. It also presents areas for integration of bank and insurance products and points to the benefits and threats associated with application of the strategy. The article also covers forms of cooperation among and supervision over bank and insurance groups in order to list conditions for success of the bancassurance idea and its development prospects.
