Abstrakty

W pracy podjęto próbę rozstrzygnięcia kontrowersji nagromadzonych wokół motywów inwestowania w Polsce. Zweryfikowano hipotezę głoszącą, że bezpośrednie inwestycje zagraniczne mają zasadniczy wpływ na polski handel międzynarodowy. Zbadano zależność pomiędzy wartością napływu bezpośrednich inwestycji zagranicznych do Polski w latach 1993-2001, a geograficzną strukturą eksportu i importu.

This article attempts to show the relationship between capital flows into Poland in the form of foreign direct investment and changes in the geographical Structure of Polish imports and exports. In the article, the author attempts to resolve the controversy surrounding the motives for investing in Poland and verifies the hypothesis on foreign direct investment's significant impact on Polish foreign trade. Using statistical and econometric tools, the author examines the character of foreign direct investment in-flows with respect to their pro-import and pro-export character. (original abstract)
