Abstrakty
Przedstawiono główne przesłanki koncepcji Europejskiej Tożsamości Bezpieczeństwa i Obrony. Omówiono kolejne jej etapy: etap formułowania koncepcji (od Deklaracji Rzymskiej do Traktatu z Maastricht: 1984-1992), etap rozbudowy koncepcji (od Traktatu z Maastricht do Traktatu Amsterdamskiego: 1992-1997) i etap przygotowania do implementacji koncepcji (tzw. proces z Saint-Malo).
The author analyses the evolution of the concept of the ESDI on the basis of original WEU and EU documents and the extensive western literature on the subject. He identifies three stages: the formulation of the concept (from the Treaty of Rome to the Maastricht Treaty in the years 1984-1992); the expansion of the concept (from the Maastricht Treaty to the Amsterdam Treaty, 1992-1997); preparation for the implementation of the concept, namely the Saint-Malo process, launched in the Autumn of 1998.
