Degradation of Polyester-Cotton Fabrics by Soil Microorganisms
Języki publikacji
Abstrakty
Celem niniejszej pracy było zbadanie, czy mikroflora gleby powoduje degradacje tkanin elanobawełnianych oraz czy obróbka wykończeniowa wpływa na szybkość biodegradacji.
The microbiological degradation of fabrics involves very complex processes. The degradation depends on chemical constitution of fibres, presence of additives (for instance, dressing), kind of finish, method of preservation, climatic conditions under which the products are used, and so on. One-component fabrics behave differently from multicomponent fabrics in which interaction between individual constituents can OCCUL The aim of the studies was to determine whether soil microflora causes degradation of polyester-cotton fabrics and whether the finishing of fabrics affects the rate of biodegradation. For that purpose the soil test was employed, while the estimate of the degree of fabric biodegradation was based on the results of the organoleptic analysis and the decrease in tenacity. The results show that polyester-cotton fabrics undergo slow biodegradation and the rate of degradation depends on the kind of finish and fabric density . (original abstract)
