W artykule omówiono podstawowe zasady intensywnej insulinoterapii podkreślając rolę dietetyka w przygotowaniu chorego do tej metody leczenia. Omówiono rolę leczenia za pomocą osobistych pomp insulinowych w intensywnej terapii cukrzycy typu 1 i typu 2. Podkreślono różnice w szkoleniu chorych stosujących konwencjonalną i intensywną insulinoterapię
The article describes the principles of intensive insulin therapy underlying the role of dietitian in patient's preparation for this mode of treatment. The role of the treatment with the personal insulin pump in the intensive insulin therapy of both type 1 and type 2 diabetes was discussed. The article points to the differences in education of patients selected for conventional vs. intensive insulin therapy.
