Studies based on a field experiment was conducted in 2008−2009 at the experimental station IUNG Osiny. Experimental factors were: cultivation systems (organic and integrated); cultivars: Berber, Owacja, Agnes and Ursus. Weeds were controlled by direct and indirect methods that are appropriate for each system. In the ecological system a higher weight and number of weed species was stated than in the integrated system. The occurrence of weeds in potato can be reduced by planting cultivars of the stalk type and high resistance to Phytophthora infestans.
