The article presents three writing methods used in the reportage on the Polish Legions by Juliusz Kaden-Bandrowski. The writer, through a number of references to patriotic literature, expressionist, aestheticizing description of the world and idealized presentation of the Legions shows the world of national, literary or social myths as true and authentic. In this way he departs from an attempt to explain to the readers modern, difficult for a lost person experience of war – as a result the war is “undescribed” in his works.
