Języki publikacji
Abstrakty
The text commences with general reflection about story and narration as dynamic, self-reflective constructs, in which individual experience, character as well as story’s receivers play an important role. The author mentions Arthur Frank’s scheme of three types of stories spun by ill people, puts it against his interviews with ill cancer people and draws conclusions. Such a devastating event made these people rebuild their story, identity or biography in creative way with help of medical achievements. Furthermore, the author destroys stereotype of ill cancer patients, who need only compassion or mercy and are spending the whole time in a hospital.
