The article presents the results of study of ancient Latin-speaking intellectuals of Ukraine. The Latin language is considered as a factor in the creation of a special type of cultural borderlands. The author draws attention to the methodological aspects, studies of Ukrainian Neo-Latin, examines major genres and styles. Main subject is “confessional literature” – a literary genre presenting information about canonized persons, history of churches, miracles etc.
