The article’s aim is to review the world art and to analyse I.S. Turgenev’s works as interrelations of sensual perceptions. Through syncretic epithets and other indicators of synesthesia in the writer’s works, the authentication of the physical and spiritual beginning is observed. The special role is played here by music and its intertextual value. The subject of analysis in the article are the novels Rudin and Home of the Gentry.
