Tematem artykułu jest problem redukcji walencyjnej czasowników polskich i niemieckich. Powyższe zagadnienie związane jest z konstrukcjami zwrotnymi i recesywnymi. W obu językach sprawca czynności (agens) może ulec redukcji. W języku polskim odpowiednikiem opuszczonego agensa jest zaimek zwrotny, natomiast w języku niemieckim niektóre czasowniki tworzą formy recesywne bez zaimka zwrotnego. W pracy została przedstawiona szersza analiza powyższego zagadnienia na podstawie prac kontrastywnych. W dalszej części artykułu przedstawiono systematyzację relacji elementu syntaktycznego (mianownik, biernik) do ról tematycznych typu agens, patiens/temat. Jako przykład posłużą konstrukcje typu: 'X öffnet das Ferster/ X otwiera okno', w których element syntaktyczny (fraza nominalna w bierniku) 'Fenster/ okno' jest nośnikiem roli tematycznej patiens/temat. Jeżeli dla X przewidziana jest fraza nominalna w mianowniku i rola tematyczna agensa, powstaje relacja kauzatywna [+CAUSE] i spełniony jest warunek tranzytywności. Jeżeli dla X nie ma właściwej frazy nominalnej, mechanizm syntaktyczny eliminuje możliwość interpretacji kauzatywnej i tranzytywnej, podstawiając element 'się/sich', np. 'plötzlich öffnete sich das Fenster / nagle otwarło się okno'.

n diesem Artikel wird auf das Problem der Valenzreduktion der deutschen und polnischen Verben eingegangen. Das Problem ist mit den reflexiven und rezessiven Verben verbunden. In den beiden Sprachen kann das Subjekt, das den Täter (Agens) bedeutet, der Reduktion unterliegen. Im Polnischen ist das Reflexivpronomen ein Äquivalent des weggelassenen Agens, im Deutschen hingegen bilden manche Verben die rezessiven Verben ohne Reflexivpronomen. Im Artikel wird eine breitere Analyse dieses Problems aufgrund von kontrastiven Arbeiten dargestellt. Im weiteren Teil wird die Systematisierung der Relation von grammatischen Kasus (Nominativ, Akkusativ u. a.) zu thematischen Rollen, wie Agens oder Patiens/Thema dargestellt. Als Beispiele sollen die Konstruktionen vom Typ: 'X öffnet das Fenster / X otwiera okno' dienen, in denen die Nominalphrase im Akkusativ als Patiens/Thema interpretiert wird. Falls X eine Nominalphrase mit der thematischen Rolle des Agens ist, haben wir es mit einem Kausativ [+CAUSE] zu tun und folglich wird die Bedingung der Transitivität erfüllt. Wenn es aber für X keine Nominalphrase gibt, eliminiert der syntaktische Mechanismus die Möglichkeit, ein Verb als kausativ oder transitiv zu interpretieren, indem ein Element 'sich/się' die Objektstelle einnimmt: 'plötzlich öffnete sich das Fenster / nagle otwarło się okno'.

The subject of this article is the problem of reducing valence of Polish and German verbs. It is related to the reflexive and recessive structures. In both languages the actions offender (agens) can be reduced. In Polish language the equivalent of that abandoned agens is reflexive pronoun, while in German, some verbs forms recessive form without it. The broader analysis of that issue has been presented in the article, based on contrastive works. This article reveals also systematization of the syntactic element relations (the nominative, the accusative) to the theta roles of the agent, patient/theme. The constructions of the following type are used as an example: 'X öffnet das Fenster/ X otwiera okno', in which the syntactic element (the nominal phrase in the accusative) 'Fenster/ okno' is the carrier of the theta role patient/theme. If a nominal phrase in the nominative is prescribed for X and the theta role of the agent, a causative relation appears [+CAUSE] and the transitivity condition is fulfilled. If there is no proper nominal phrase for X, a syntactic mechanism eliminates the possibilities of causative and transitive interpretation, substituting the 'się/sich' element, e.g. 'plötzlich öffnete sich das Fenster / nagle otwarło się okno'.
