Autorka, na przykładzie trzech istot demonicznych: karakondżula, wampira i talasyma, przedstawia wzajemny stosunek człowieka (Bułgara) do stworzonych przez niego wyobrażeń o mieszkańcach „świata nieziemskiego” (antyświata). W opisie demonów autorka kieruje się następującymi kryteriami (wyróżnikami): (1) czas działania istoty; (2) bezpośredni kontakt z ofiarą; (3) brak preferencji przy wyborze ofiar; (4) zdolność przeistaczania się w zwierzęta, ludzi i sobie tylko właściwe stwory; (5) złe intencje ich postępowania. Następnie przechodzi do szczegółowego omówienia każdego demona, wymieniając takie informacje, jak: pochodzenie, funkcje, sposoby ujawniania się, stopień ingerencji w życie człowieka, sposoby walki i ochrony. Na zakończenie formułuje wnioski: (a) dla człowieka z ludu działania demonów mają wartość sygnałów, według których orientuje się on w rzeczywistości; (b) człowiek przyjmuje sygnały istot demonicznych jako nakazy od przodków; (c) demony pełnią funkcję mediatora między żywymi i umarłymi; (d) demony zrodziła potrzeba zapełnienia luki w wiedzy na temat granicy życia i śmierci, ludzka niewiedza powołała na „ten świat” demony takie, jakie były potrzebne człowiekowi.

The author expresses the mutual relation between man (Bulgaria) and his image of the inhabitants of the supernatural world (anti-world), exemplified by three demonic creatures, i.e. karakondżula [demonic creature], wampir [vampire] and talasym [demonic creature]. In the description of the demons, the author follows the following criteria: (1) time when a given creature is active; (2) direct contact with its victim; (3) lack of preferences in the choice of its victims; (4) the ability to transform into animals, humans, and other relevant for a particular demon creatures; (5) bad intention of their actions. Next, the author goes on to a detailed discussion on each demon, enumerating such pieces of information as: origins, functions, the ways of manifesting itself, the degree of interference into human life, the ways of fighting these demons and the ways of protecting oneself against them. At the end of the article, the author formulates the following conclusions: (a) demons’ activities have a value of signals according to which a commoner navigates reality; (b) a man accepts the signals sent by demonic creatures as the orders of his antecedents; (c) demons function as mediators between the living and the dead; (d) demons were born from the need to fill the gap in the knowledge about the line between life and death; human ignorance ‘brought’ to this world such demons that were needed by humans.
