In the Polish language, the word „destruction” means „disintegration”, „damage” or „collapse of something” and „disorganization”. Destruction can be analyzed both in theoretical context (philosophical theories and artistic manifestos are then taken into account) and in practical terms (in such a case e.g. the avantgarde movement is considered). Apparently the best way to describe and explain the phenomenon of destruction is to stress the dialectic between destruction and construction as well as their interrelations visible in selected philosophical and artistic activities of the 20th century
