Szasza Blonder (1909-1949) was one of the most active and talented members of the pre-war I Krakow Group. Nevertheless, little has been written about his life and work, and his interesting achievements have not been subjected to in-depth analysis. These two motifs, creativity and the fortunes of the artist are intertwined in the case of Blonder very much. His drawings and paintings fill the form of friends, family members, home appliances, which he always had at hand, landscapes from his homeland. In each of these cases, the artist betrayed a very emotional attitude towards the subject studied. He was an expressionist, portraying the people he came into contact with, similarly he treated the world around him, landscapes that were moving before his eyes, urban scenes that often appeared in his works, the most banal objects surrounding him. At the same time, he was able to keep a distance, all this was for him primarily a nutrient, which he fed his painting, satisfied the need to express himself, to throw away the excess of observation.
