The article presents the current situation and forecast for development of energy production from renewable resources in the Opole Voivodship. The share of renewable sources in electricity and heat production in the region is 5.4%. The largest part in energy production from renewable resources came from biomass and hydro-electricity. Other sources are of secondary importance, although the planned investments could result in major changes in the direction of the dominant sources. Implementation of the intended investments may cause the increase of importance of other sources — wind energy and agricultural biogas plants.
