This contribution is a short review of movements in Slovak church historiography. It started to free itself from the bonds of confesionalism and other problems in stages. In spite of many significant problems in research on medieval church history, number of scientific institutions is still growing up. However, this field of research is a domain of uncountable group of historians. Editing of monographs is still behind in comparison with neighbouring countries. A new sources books dealing with medieval church which were published in last four years prove to the intensity of scientific work in this area. The article is completed by a list of chosen scientific projects, which were done in Academia and chosen scientific institutions.
