Major General in memoriam Ladislav Nosák in the resistance
Języki publikacji
Abstrakty
Ladislav Nosák, a prominent figure in the Slovak resistance and a participant in the Slovak National Uprising, has attracted historian attention primarily due to his tragic fate in the fabricated trial alongside Viliam Žingor. The author, therefore, focused on portraying his resistance activities during the period of the Slovak Republic 1939–1945. As early as 1939, Ladislav Nosák actively participated in the so-called Ružomberok Rebellion, for which he was convicted in 1940. Shortly before the outbreak of the Slovak National Uprising, he was appointed Chief of Staff of the Second Czechoslovak Partisan Brigade of General M. R. Štefánik. With this unit, he participated in the defensive battles of the Slovak National Uprising. After its military defeat, he continued his illegal activities and, during February 1945, organised a partisan unit in the Fatranský Kriváň area. Post-war, he became involved in social life. In 1950, he fell victim to a fabricated trial and was executed.
