Israeli Military Actions in Fight Against Terrorism

Abstrakty
Israel since the beginning of its existence struggles with exterior and interior threats connected with national security. For over twenty years terrorist attacks have intensified. In order to fight against this phenomenon, it was necessary to create an anti-terrorist system. The author describes the role of Israeli army in the anti-terrorist system created in this country. He points at the ways to perform tasks assigned to the armed forces in the area. He gives examples of anti-terrorist operations carried out by Israeli military special units, including the most famous one, connected with the raid on Uganda’s territory in order to set free Israelites, passengers of a plane hijacked to Uganda by Palestinian terrorists. The author presents in the article aims that the Israeli authorities want to achieve engaging the armed forces in land, maritime and air actions against terrorist organisations and he also provides examples of penalty sanctions (executed both in Israel and in occupied territories as well) against terrorist groups members or supporters.
