Energy from national security perspective, is a driving force of any country's economy, an element of national and state sovereignty, and a social, economic and, what is worth stressing, political problem. In an external dimension, the feeling of security is guaranteed by stable and not threatened by anything unpredictable conditions of energy and resources import - what is also worth underlying - maintaining the price competitiveness. The author explains the idea and complexities of the security notion, the influence of the state on the increase of this security. Moreover he discusses Poland's and countries’ of the region energy potential, the level of Poland’s and countries' of the region dependence on deliveries from abroad and the way the energy policy of particular countries is shaped.
