The results of architectural studies done in the last few years in the area of Kraków town location allow to present the first functional and spatial changes of a Kraków burgher's house. It has been ascertained that the first building of Kraków houses generally rises on lots which are the result of symmetrical, longitudinal division of location lots, located in their street part. Two-storey brick houses had been built there. The first store was a one-space, multifunctional vestibule. The lack of possibility of passing through the vestibule to the back of the lot often caused leaving an unbuilt part of the lot in the shape of a narrow passageway from the street to the back building. In consequence of this fact not everywhere the facades composed constant street frontages. In the houses filling the whole width of the front of the lot the lack of passageway through the vestibule to the back of the lot was the reason of division of the one-space vestibules. The division of vestibules follows in few variants depending on the access to the back part of the lot, the plan of exterior walls and the location of the entrance to the ground floor. This division had a decisive role in the formation of the functional - spatial arrangement of lots in the time of forming of the back road; in the deepening of the plan of the frontal building in the 2nd half of 14th century; and also in forming the next phases of creation of the building facades' composition of the Kraków burgher's house.
