Abstrakty
There are only a few commercial goniometric spectral-photometers on the market used for appearance characterization of effect coatings. The number of geometries ranges from subsets of ASTM E2539-08 to some 10 including out-of-plane geometries. On the other hand, in scientific institutes, universities and public organizations experimental devices built up able to create BRDF data nearly over the whole hemisphere. This paper gives results about sets of geometries (isolines) along which basic parameters of interaction between light and effect pigment are constant. They are most suitable to analyze the appearance of the coatings and make conclusions about the effect pigments. Therefore, the effort to measure gonio-apparent coatings can be reduced to the most important geometries.
