Autor przybliża zagadnienie analizy dokumentów i innych nośników informacji zdobytych w czasie operacji wojskowych, znane pod nazwą DOCEX lub DOMEX. Podczas konfliktów asymetrycznych oraz walk z organizacjami terrorystycznymi każdy dokument (drukowany czy elektroniczny), który pozwala zrozumieć taktykę działania przeciwnika i jego strukturę organizacyjną, ma duże znaczenie. System umożliwiający skuteczne zdobywanie i analizowanie danych stał się jednak skomplikowany ze względu na ogrom informacji znajdujących się w Internecie oraz łatwość ich przesyłania. Autor na podstawie ogólnodostępnych materiałów anglojęzycznych definiuje zagadnienie DOMEX-u, przedstawia jego genezę, znacznie i możliwe problemy związane z jego realizacją. Informacje te pozwolą zrozumieć funkcjonowanie tego procesu i jego praktyczne znaczenie w całym systemie rozpoznawczym.
