In the beginning of May 2000 the Selective Availability code was switchead off. As a result of this action it is possible now to obtain more accurate postion of a single GPS receiver in a global system of reference. The Selective Availability was accomplished by dithering the satellite clock frequency in a way that prevented unauthorized users from accurately measuring instantanenous pseudoranges. The second method of accuracy denial was to truncate the transmitted navigation message so that the coordinates of GPS satellites could not be computed accurately. Studies of recorded pseudoranges as well as ephemerides are given in the paper. The states before and after deactivation are compared.
