EN

The present article investigates the costs and benefits of introducing and performing environmental management systems into modern industrial organisations. The identifications of environmental management costs and benefits enables adequate information (information systems) in order to control the performance of the industrial organisation. Some of such systems have been presented and the necessary steps toward an Environmental Management Information System (EMIS) that reinforces ISO 14000 payback have been recognized.
