The problem of collapsing of wet cylinder sleeve collars in one of diesel engines manufactured in Europe was presented as well as the methodology of the loads within the area of the collar. The work constitutes a fragment of one of numerous research works conducted at the Chair of Combustion Engines, Institute of Machine Design and Operation, Wroclaw University of Technology.
