Drilling of large diameter holes in clayey, strongly swelling formations requires the application of non-standard technical solutions for a satisfactory inancial and technical effect.Since the cost of fluid disposal is much higher than its production cost, drilling companies expect fluid engineers to provide solutions which will meet the environmental requirements without imposing too much of a burden on the budget. It is to be expected that in Poland, too, a proper enforcement of law will curb illegal discharges of fluid into rivers, canals or other water courses.
