A bridge is now not only a crossing for overcoming a water obstacle with dry feet. Designers of pedestrian bridgesand walkways are competing with their ideas and create structures that are atypical, futuristic, and some may even be called works of art. The article presents several projects and realizations that captivate with their form or functionality. One can read about the Rolling Bridge in London, among other structures, being a modern variation of the drawbridge. Furthermore, the article presents a design of a London walkway made almost entirely of glass, a unique tilt bridge in Newcastle - Gates-head, and the wavy structure of Henderson Waves in Singapore.
