The author of the article focuses on the history of Warsaw metro construction. The trenchless works on the first section of the railway started nearly 25 years ago. Three most recent metro stations: Stare Bielany, Wawrzyszew and Młociny were opened on the 25th October 2008. Completing the construction of the first line is an opportunity for retrospection as well as a look into the future: the construction of the second line should start in 2009.
