Seasonal variation of the atmospheric pressure in Warsaw in the 19TH and 20TH century

Abstrakty
The article presents results of researches of atmospheric pressure annual course permanent charac-teristics; researches were done on the basis of atmospheric pressure measurements in Warsaw in 19th (series: 1831-1855 and 1856-1880) and in 20th century (series: 1966-1990). Daily and monthly mean values of atmospheric pressure were analysed. It was found that averaged atmospheric pres-sure multiyear course explain only about 10% of the variation of atmospheric pressure annual courses: phases and amplitudes of an annual course are variable and not firmed. Both the highest and the lowest daily and monthly values in each year appeared in the period September-June; the biggest frequencies of these maxima and minima appeared more frequently than minimum in: December, January and March. A permanent characteristic of atmospheric pressure seasonal changes is an increasing variability in autumn and winter seasons: daily mean values standard deviations have its maxima in January, the biggest inter-daily changes appeared in December.
