Abstrakty
Under a grant from the Ohio Coal Development Office (CDO/D-0012) Energy Industries has produced syntactic foams from fly ash cenospheres and aluminium with bulk densities as low as 0.4 g/cm3. This paper will discuss metallic foam theory and applications and will describe processing techniques to produce ALFA (aluminium/fly ash) foams.
