Przedmieścia Odrzańskie i Piaskowe końca XIX i początku XX wieku było poligonem dynamicznych przemian przestrzennych, nawiązujących do najbardziej aktualnych tendencji urbanistyki europejskiej. Przedstawione w artykule koncepcje i realizacje urbanistyczne takie jak: projekty regulacji - geometryczne i malownicze, systemy przenikania tkanki miejskiej zielenią, kształtowanie uliczek mieszkaniowych wewnątrz kwartałów zabudowy, czy racjonalne budownictwo spółdzielcze w zabudowie blokowej (Wohnhofe), stanowią, bardzo interesujący przegląd nowatorskiej myśli urbanistycznej tamtego okresu.

Przedmieście Odrzańskie and Piaskowe was, at the end of the XIX century and the beginning of the XX century, a proving ground of dynamic spatial changes, with reference to the most up-to-date European urban planning tendencies. Urban concepts and executions presented in the articles, such as regulation designs - geometric and picturesque, systems of penetrating the city's flesh with green areas, the formation of residential streets within development quarters, and rational cooperative construction in block development (Wohnhofe), constitute a very interesting review of modern urban thoughts of that period. This includes the noticeable influence of the aesthetical urban doctrine of Camillo Sitte, and radial and wedge formation of green areas by Teodor Fritsch. The designers Alfred von Scholtz and Alfred Friihwirth placed in the centre of the plan the picturesque Nowowiejski Park (1905), constituting a metropolitan frame for prestigious public buildings located at its edges such as St. Michael Archangel church (design: Alexis Langer 1862-1871), Pestalozzie Complex of People's School (design: Richard Phiddemann 1898) and the Building School (design: Karl Klimm 1904).
