Abstrakty
In presented approach a pre-operative selection of an optimal implant relies on comparative analysis of three type models: (a) CT-based, parametric geometric model of patient's hip joint ( femoral bone identification with accurate head location); (b) parametric geometric model of optimal implant for cemented or uncemented hip replacements, derived from (a); (c) parametric geometric models of implants, available for the surgical operation (hospital data base). Comparative analysis and results of optimization (combinatorial-cyclic method) are output graphically and in ranking tables within frames of integrated CAD/CAM/CAE systems (Unigraphics-NX3 or other systems). The objective function of the optimization has a multi-variable structure, and can be set according to a surgeon's requirements.
