The knowledge of fatigue strength is required in numerous areas of engineering design, and in particular, in components of working machines. Destruction processes of machine components have an energetic dimension. An energy model of construction effort and energy measure capacity and effort of sample degradation of constructional materials was presented. The characteristics of welded joints of the samples were used in structural design. This article presents the idea behind the method and sample results of tests of structural degradation profiles and energetic measures of fatigue strength of modern constructional steel.
