The problems of perception and aesthetic assessment of Cracow`s landscape

Abstrakty
The article presents a preliminary report of the research conducted by the Institute of Landscape Architecture of the Cracow University of Technology together with the Institute of Applied Psychology of the Jagiellonian University. This research . supervised by professor Aleksander Böhm - concerned the role of landscape values in physical planning. The first part of the research was intended to answer the following questions: Do the landscape values influence the price of real estate (in the opinions of the persons professionally connected with the real estates valuation and assessment of aesthetic value of landscape)? What is the extent (in percentage) of such an influence? What elements of a landscape raise the price of a real estate and which of them reduce the price (in the opinion of the persons mentioned above)? The questionnaires were addressed to the 342 persons representing property managers, real estate agents, developers, tourist agencies and hotels. The preliminary results of our research confirm the distinct influence of landscape values on the price of real estate.
