A series of La1-xMxCoO3 (M = Sr, Ce, x = 0.0; 0.20) mixed oxides has been prepared by both ceramic and sol-gel method using citric and maleinic acids. The formation of perovskite-type structure has been shown by XRD spectroscopy. Precursors of the perovskites obtained by sol - gel method have been additionally investigated by TGA-MS to confirm the formation route steps. Catalytic activity of the La - Co perovskites have been investigated in the methanol combustion. Effects of doping element and preparation route on catalytic efficiency has been studied.
