General relation between radiation intensity of heat sources that are the diagnosed subsystem and the temperature being registered by means of thermovision cameras that are an element of the diagnosing subsystem. The presented results of experimental examinations which are an illustration of the possibilities and constraints of thermovision in monitoring the technical state of machines and installations being tested constitute an original contribution of the Author.
