Abstrakty

The reasearch shows technologies, which are used in a process of leather dressing and finishing. The products of international companies i.e. BASF, TANAC, ZSCHIMMER&SCHWARZ, TENSIS, TRUMPLER were used in a leather dressing part of the research. As a result, the optimal method of leather tanning was bark tanning by ZSCHIMER&SCHWARZ. On the other hand, the expert test ranks the analyzed technologies differently in a following order TRUMPLER, TANAC, ZSCHIMMER&SCHWARZ. The BASF casein finishing of leather turned out to be the best for luggage and leather goods. To sum up, the best type of tanning in this particular situation is bark tanning. The zirconium tanning did not meet the parameters of leather, which can be used in the production of leather accessories.
