Abstrakty

The paper presents the results of laboratory studies of selected types of heat- and water-resisting leathers, regarding the surface shrinkage in dry conditions, characterized by the S parameter, defined as a surface loss (shrinkage), in accordance with the PN-EN ISO 17227:2005 standard, and surface shrinkage by submerging in boiling water, characterised by the P parameter, defined as the mean proportional size reduction, in accordance with the PN EN ISO 20349:2007. On the basis of obtained test results and their statistical evaluation, both methods have been compared and their application possibilities have been indicated.
