Warunki naturalne - obszar górzysty i położenie geopolityczne oraz dynamiczny rozwój szwajcarskiej gospodarki, wymiany towarowej i turystyki implikują rozwój infrastruktury transportowej drogą modernizacji istniejących i budowy kolejnych tuneli komunikacyjnych. W artykule zaprezentowano aktualny stan budownictwa tunelowego i budowę strategicznych dla państwa tuneli, tj, Lotschberg, Gotthard i Ceneri. Przedstawiono zakres niezbędnych robót i technologie drążenia. Wskazano na ewentualną możliwość zatrudnienia - przy specjalistycznych pracach - także polskich firm.

Natural conditions - mountainous area and geopolitical location together with a dynamic development of Swiss economy, goods exchange and tourism imply development of transpiration infrastructure. The article presented the current situation of tunnelling and construction of strategic tunnels for the state, i.e.: Lotschberg, Gotthard and Ceneri. It presented a scope of indispensable works and tunnel drivage technologies. It pointed out to employment possibilities - at specialist works- also for Polish companies.
