Technology and some properties of rubbers filled with silica nanopowder

Abstrakty
Zbadano właściwości gum różniących się zawartością krzemionki i wymiarem jej ziaren. Mieszanki gumowe zawierające kauczuki SBR i BR o napełnieniu 50 phr były dyspergowane na walcarce, natomiast o napełnieniu od O do 16 phr - w specjalnym mieszalniku dynamicznym. Stwierdzono poprawę właściwości mechanicznych wraz ze zmniejszeniem wielkości ziarna krzemionki.
The usage properties of cured rubbers based on SBR rubber and a mixture of SBR/BR rubbers filled with different finely dispersed silica (10 to 1000 nm in a size of grain) were evaluated. First stage of compounding was performed on the mixing mill. Second stage was performed by using home made prototype of the mixing head attached to the typical single-screw Brabender extruder working here as a feeder of the head. Such technology ensures as much as possible good dispersion of the filler. That mixing head was acting on principle of dynamic mixing of the polymer in a viscous-eiastic state. From experiments, it is clear that properties of cured rubber could be improved if a size of silica particles is reduced in the range investigated. No difference in rubber properties filled with modified and neat silica was noticed. For rubbers studied, the influence of silica surface area on the reinforcing ability is larger than the filling degree.
