Abstrakty
The paper discusses the problem of resistance to motion of vessels navigating on inland water-ways. There have been also presented methods for determination of resistance based on many years' investigations carried out in natural conditions and on models, as well as factors influencing its values. Particular attention has been paid to the significant effect of dimensions of the cross-section of the water--way (its breadth and depth) and of the horizontal configuration of the water-way (nawigation along the river bend).
