W artykule przedstawiono ogólny zarys zmian technologicznych diod elektroluminescencyjnych oraz przegląd najważniejszych właściwości diod pod kątem możliwości ich zastosowania w technice oświetlenia. Wskazano kilka obszarów aplikacyjnych diod LED w oświetleniu.

A general review of technological changes of LED's is presented in this paper, together with the most important features of them and a possibility of their usage in lighting techniques. Some domain of LED's applications in illumination are shown as well.
