Abstrakty
The present work, which follows up with former study devoted to the evaluation of the set of mechanical properties determined in oxide tool ceramics constituted on the basis of Al2O3 [1 , 2], reports on an analysis of the physical nature of the indentation fatigue carried out on silicon nitride. Analogically with the former studies, the indentation testing method is applied, which makes possible to make the corresponding evaluation operatively. The sharp Vickers indentation is prefered bacause the size of indentation is small and the cracks emanating from the indentation corners are easy to find [ 3 ].
