Influence of growth of scale thickness of oxidised low-carbon steel on rate of oxidation was analysed. To the analysis experimental data were applied. The experiment was conducted in chamber electrical furnace on 12 cylindrical samples made of Arema steel with dimension [fi]20, l=30 mm at 1000°C in air atmosphere. Time of oxidation varied from 10 till 2280 min. After oxidation thickness of scale layer for each sample was measured with accuracy 0.01 mm. The conducted analysis re-veals, that rate of oxidation of tested steel initially courses with linear dependence up to limiting value of scale thickness him =0.44 mm, then with hyperbolic dependence according to parabolic law.
