Abstrakty
A quantitive analysis of microstructure of Al-Si alloys with different morphologies of eutectic silicon particles was carried out in order to correlate the low cycle fatigue resistance with microstructural parameters. Different solidification processes and heat treatments applied resulted in a large variety of morphologies of Si particles. Parameters describing geometrical features of the population of particles can be easily correlated with mechanical properties of the alloys.
