Celem artykułu jest wykazanie ważnej roli projektowania akustycznego w planowaniu przestrzennym. Projektowanie akustyczne (soundscape design) jest nową interdyscypliną łączącą podejście naukowe (socjologii, antropologii, psychologii i geografii) i artystyczne w celu wypracowania metod dla ulepszenia jakości estetycznej środowiska dźwiękowego. W ramach projektowania akustycznego mieści się ocena nowych dźwięków przed ich wprowadzeniem, ocena zgodności funkcji z istniejącym lub oczekiwanym krajobrazem dźwiękowym, ochrona pewnych dźwięków charakterystycznych (soundmark), użycie różnorodnych dźwięków dla tworzenia atrakcyjnego, bodźcowego środowiska akustycznego. Doceniane jest ludzkie doświadczenie, znaczenie dźwięków dla mieszkańców. Projektowanie akustyczne wprowadza trzeci wymiar w procesie planowania, uwzględnia interaktywne funkcje, zwraca uwagę na subiektywne i estetyczne aspekty.

The main aim of the paper is presenting the important role of the soundscape design in spatial planning. Soundscape design is a new interdisciplinary method, connecting scientific (sociology, anthropology, psychology, and geography) and artistic approaches in the aim of creating methods for better esthetic quality of the soundscape. In the acoustic design evaluation of the new sounds before their implementation, evaluation of the coincidence function with existed or expected soundscapes, protection of the some soundmarks, using diversity of sounds for creation of attractive and stimulated sound environment is prepared. Human experience and importance of noise for inhabitants are also very valuable. Soundscape planning brings in the third dimension in the planning process, considers interactive functions and subjective and esthetic aspects.
