It is shown that the rank of a main mutual inductance matrix of a coupled electric and magnetic circuit is equal or less than the number of windings. When the rank of main mutual inductance matrix is less than the number of windings, a current vector can be divided into two components: active- and zero-component which are of high importance for the efficiency of the energy conversion.
